EU-funded Twinning Project “Strengthening the capacity of Serbia’s health sector for communicable disease surveillance” continues the implementation of the training programme targeted primarily at epidemiologists and microbiologists from the Balkan Region. The first three modules targeting epidemiologists and microbiologists and covering the topics of applied epidemiology, data collection, management and visualization tools were conducted in May and October – November 2024. The content of the trainings derives from the training needs assessment conducted in autumn 2023, and THL experts develop and deliver the trainings.
The training module will be intended primarily for public heath microbiologists, relevant to various aspects of whole genome sequencing (WGS), and its application in communicable disease surveillance, detection and investigation of outbreaks. The training will include presentations, demos and exercises and will be accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continued Medical Education.
The training will take place on 4 and 5 March 2025, at the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut” in Belgrade, in English. The participants are requested to fill out and submit an online registration form before 15 February 2025.
